Internationalization Quality Recertification ECA

Universidad de La Salle became the first Latin American higher education institution to receive the internationalization quality recertification (first time on 2014 and then 2020) from the European Accreditation Consortium (ECA) in the framework of the Certificate for Quality in Internationalization project (CEQUINT).

Between September 30 and October 1 of 2020 an assessment panel made up of five international and one national expert carried out an external assessment visit to the University with the objective of evaluating the quality of their internationalization processes. After reviewing the self-assessment report submitted by the institution and making the visit, the panel concluded that:

"The Universidad de La Salle demonstrates a major commitment to the construction, development and consolidation of a clear and consistent internationalization processes that have had a positive impact on international and intercultural learning outcomes, teaching, learning and research, staff and students. These are included in the different plans and are complemented by specific instruments emanating from the institution as a whole, as well as resources, which are supported both by the Lasallian academic community and by external actors. It is important to highlight the major commitment at management level, which can be seen in the availability of resources and institutional commitments to internationalization. (…) The University has successfully implemented effective internationalization activities that demonstrably contribute to the quality of teaching and learning”

This reaccreditation is not the result of a particular set of action undertaken at a certain time, but is the recognition for a consistent effort made over the last five years, at the same time it is an award for a cross-cutting strategy of academic excellence in which all members of the Lasallian community can participate where “the vision of humanized internationalization has been key in developing plans, strategies and activities in favor of internationalization”

As stated by ECA this certificate confirms thar a “institution has successfully incorporated an international and intercultural dimension into the purpose, function and delivery of its education”.
