Last February 10th, Partners of the Americas and the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs at the U.S. Department of State announce 24 new grant-winning teams between higher education institutions in the United States with Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia. The joint project “Soil, People, the Environment, and Food for Life (SoPEF 4 Life)” was selected by this initiative and will see Universidad de La Salle, Lewis University and University of Delaware collaborate to share their expertise and knowledge with an international research team of undergraduate and graduate students from their schools to develop solutions that address climate change and soil degradation in rural areas of Colombia.

SoPEF 4 Life opens the door for students to graduate studies, promotes economic prosperity, and contributes to workforce development in #Colombia through the transfer of academic knowledge to solve real-world problems that family farmers face in rural areas of Colombia. Thank to this grant Unisalle will increases student training and exchange opportunities and strengthens regional education cooperation and competitiveness with key partners in the United States.
